I get it.
Really, I do.
By some stroke of google-genius you've discovered my blog and now you want to know "who I am" in the grand scheme of things. Which is cool, because it means something I said hit home for you. Yet it's also weird, because I'm certainly not out to become one of People Magazine's Coolest Dorks of the Year or anything. So, I will try to tell you about me in as few words as possible, and you will have to fill in the holes as you join me on this journey, if I should be lucky enough to have you along for the ride...
My name in Stephanie. Most people call me Steph, or dumbass. I respond to both. I live in New England, and I love it here. In "real life" I'm as clumsy as they come, which pretty much translates to every other facet of my life as well. I'm a professional life-fumbler. But, I believe you learn from your mistakes, and with that said - I am apparently aiming to be an all-knowing-source before I die.
I am a Mother of two. My daughter is a little sass, and she keeps me on my toes. My son has a neurological disorder and can not speak clear enough to be understood by most (just putting it out there). Creating these two human-beings is always going to be my greatest accomplishment in this life. They are absolutely everything to me. Except when they puke. I'm not a super-big-fan of semi-digested-stomach-contents.
(And yes, they have a Dad. A really good Dad. We tried being married for a while. Didn't go so well. But it's ok, because as one door closes, another opens, or something profound like that.)
When I am not wandering around looking for the meaning of life, I am either doing something creative (scrapbooking, knitting, photography, painting, decorating etc...), spending time with the people I love, or working. By day I am a Systems Specialist in a busy medical laboratory. Which basically translates to: Nerd. The job is good... but I definitely do not feel that I have found my calling in life...
I'm pretty much not (at all) friendly with spiders.
I started this blog in March of 2005. I wanted it to be a hub for my friends & family to see what I was up to. With a (then) 2-year old daughter, it was not always easy to find time for phone calls and email. So in essence, I started the blog because I was lazy. What I realized along the way is that I love to write. I like sharing my thoughts, and through doing so have realized the effect we (as human beings) have on one another. It has literally changed my life.
As far as I'm concerned, as long as there are keyboards to type with, this adventure has no ending. So kick off your shoes and stay a while....
